Les recherches menées au sein de l’équipe CASECO ont pour objectif de réaliser, à façon et dans des conditions douces, des transformations de chimie organique catalysées. Ces recherches couvrent aussi bien les aspects les plus fondamentaux (développements méthodologiques, mécanismes…) que les plus appliqués (molécules cibles, grandes échelles, recyclage…) en s’appuyant sur différentes techniques d’analyses (RMN liquide, spectrométrie de masse, diffraction des rayons X, chromatographies liquides et gazeuses…). En réponse notamment à un besoin sociétal et industriel d’une chimie moins polluante, plus durable et globalement plus « verte », la discipline évolue rapidement dans son approche. L’équipe de recherche CASECO intègre ainsi les concepts de chimie verte dans ses approches synthétiques et vise ainsi à proposer des solutions à ces défis en s’appuyant sur ses compétences en synthèse organique, synthèse organométallique et catalyse homogène. Son action porte notamment sur le développement et l’application de méthodologies de synthèse moins dépendantes du carbone fossile et des métaux précieux, plus propres (atome–efficientes), plus sélectives et plus économes en énergie (conditions douces) pour la synthèse de composés d’intérêt en chimie fine, chimie pharmaceutique et chimie de spécialité.

 

Axes de recherche / thématiques :

Chimie fine/asymétrie :

La catalyse organométallique et/ou organique est étudiée pour élaborer des molécules fonctionnalisées d’intérêt en chimie fine et pharmaceutique de manière efficace et (énantio)sélective. Les réactions chimiques étudiées sont très diverses (hydrogénations, réductions, oxydations, aminations, carbonylations, formation de liaisons C-C…). Elles s’opèrent à partir de diverses matières premières incluant celles issues de la biomasse dans des milieux homogènes ou biphasiques. Les composés ciblés sont notamment des intermédiaires de synthèse de molécules pour la pharmacie ou la chimie de base. Enfin, les catalyseurs organométalliques étudiés sont basés aussi bien sur des métaux nobles, reconnus pour leurs propriétés exceptionnelles, que sur des métaux abondants, peu onéreux et atoxiques dont l’application est particulièrement attendue et prometteuse.

Du végétal à la molécule : Valorisation de la biomasse par catalyse homogène.

Le monde du végétal représente une source de molécules carbonées accessibles à fort tonnage. Les sucres, polyols, acides gras, terpènes sont autant de grandes familles de composés possédants des structures et fonctionnalités très diversifiées. Dans son approche de valorisation de la biomasse, l’équipe s’attèle à  modifier ces molécules sans bouleverser la structure carbonée originale. Réactions d’éthérification, de carbonylation et de métathèse sont autant d’approches catalytiques mises en œuvre pour ouvrir des accès efficaces à des composés d’intérêts, monomères, détergents, plastifiants innovants … .

Catalyse organique :

L’organocatalyse constitue une alternative intéressante à la catalyse métallique en synthèse organique (asymétrique ou non). L’équipe applique ce concept lors de construction d’hétérocycles d’intérêt biologique via des réactions éco-compatibles (réactions domino et/ou multicomposants). Les organocatalyseurs sont de type « paire d’ions chirale » possédant un squelette ammonium dérivés d’alcaloïdes, acides de Brønsted.

Catalyse supportée :

En utilisant une approche de chimie organométallique de surface, nous développons des catalyseurs hétérogènes comportant des sites organométalliques bien définis (à base de terres rares, d’alcalino-terreux, de métaux de transition et du groupe principal), et nous étudions l’impact du greffage sur les performances catalytiques de ces matériaux (activité et sélectivité).
En combinant les expertises en chimie organométallique et RMN du solide au sein de l’UCCS et de partenaires extérieurs (C2P2 UMR 5265), nous étudions la structure des catalyseurs supportés au niveau moléculaire. Cela est possible grâce à l’emploi de séquences RMN avancées, notamment de type corrélations hétéronucléaires impliquant des noyaux quadripolaires (17O, 27Al…). Cette approche permet d’accéder à des informations structurales fines non-accessibles par les techniques spectroscopiques usuelles.

Équipements

 

Réacteurs de synthèse : matériel de synthèse organique classique en verre mais également des réacteurs sous pression de 25 mL à 600 mL. Les réacteurs sous pression sont notamment utilisés pour la mise en œuvre de réactions sous pression de gaz réactifs (CO, H2, CO/H2, O2) accessibles en réseau dans au niveau de l’ENSCL et du Hall de Catalyse de l’UCCS. Les laboratoires sont de ce fait équipés de tous les détecteurs appropriés à ces chimies sous pression.
Equipements atmosphère contrôlée : Les 25 hottes du laboratoire sont équipées de rampes à vide/argon permettant d’effectuer des synthèses sous atmosphère contrôlée, de travailler avec des produits sensibles. Une Boîte à gants permet le stockage et la manipulation des composés les plus sensibles, principalement des organométalliques
Analyse : Accès aux plateformes « grands équipements » des universités de Lille 1 et Lille 2 (RMN, spectrométrie de masse et RX notamment).

Parc chromatographique: Chromatographes en phase gaz (FID avec passeurs d’échantillon, GC-MS), HPLC phase normale ou inverse. De par son expérience historique en catalyse asymétrique, le laboratoire utilise en routine un large éventail de colonnes chirales (pour GC et HPLS).

Chromatographie préparative : Chromatographie flash automatique avec détecteurs UV et DEDL pour la purification sur gel de silice.
