  MOT DU RESPONSABLE D’ÉQUIPE  
 

Créée en septembre 2006, l’équipe VAALBIO comprend actuellement huit permanents et vingt doctorants, un post-doctorants et un ingénieur. Nos activités portent sur la valorisation catalytique avancée de la biomasse pour les bioraffineries ainsi que sur une utilisation rationnalisée des ressources fossiles.

Nous intégrons des compétences en catalyse, en génie des procédés et des réacteurs et en criblage catalytique haut débit pour la valorisation d’hydrocarbures légers (C1 à C4), de molécules plateformes bio-sourcées issues de la filière lignocellulosique (C1 à C6), et de composés gras et coproduits de la filière oléagineuse. Notre forte activité partenariale donne lieu à l’octroi de licences sur brevets et a permis la création de la startup TEAMCAT Solutions. Nous développons en outre une activité fondamentale originale, avec, notamment, des travaux pionniers en catalyse hybride mêlant chemo- et biocatalyse dans un même réacteur.
